Course: Ground Disturbance - Industry Recommended Practice 17
This is a 4-hour course that will provide training to personnel who are involved with a ground disturbance operation. They will be trained on the various rules, regulations and procedures that are pertinent for ground disturbance work. Training topics will include:
- Information sources that can be utilized to search for underground facilities;
- How to provide notification of a ground disturbance to the facility owner;
- Receipt of owner notification;
- Correct crossing and approvals agreements and registrations;
- Provincial regulations and guidelines including permit requirements and pre-job planning meetings;
- Proper planning procedures including plot plans and site drawings;
- Rules, regulations and job procedures concerning the actual exposure of underground facilities;
- Rules, regulations and job procedures concerning the back-fill operations;
- Rules, regulations and procedures concerning the contact of an underground facility; and
- Emergency response planning.
